US Retail Sales rose 0.6% MoM in June,
Well above the 0.1% forecast,
rebounding from May's sharp 0.9% drop.
US Initial Jobless Claims fell to 221000 last week,
below the expected 235000,
signaling ongoing tightness in the labor market.
US Producer Price Index (PPI) inflation figures
came in cooler than expected in June,
bolstering market hopes that tariffs will have a
lesser impact than many expected or feared.
New York Fed President John Williams warned that the
full economic impact of the tariffs is just beginning,
estimating they could add around 1 percentage point
to inflation in the second half of 2025.
San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly maintained that
the US economy is in a solid position.
She acknowledged that June's CPI data reflected some
early effects of tariffs but susggested their
overall impact on inflation may be limited.
