still anticipating a quarter-point rate cut in July.
Data from the World Gold Council (WGC) revealed
the People's Bank of China added 2 tonnes to its
Gold reserves in April - sixth consecutive month.
Bank of England is expected to reduce interest rates
by 25 bps to 4.25. This would be the fourth
interest rate cut by the BoE in the current monetary
easing cycle, which started in August last year.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and
Trade Representative Jamieson Greer confirmed
that they will meet their Chinese counterparts for
trade discussions this week in Geneva.
French banks will be closed in
observance of Victory Day.
