to security guarantees in exchange for some territory.
Responding to German Chancellor Merz’s ceasefire demand,
Trump noted past U.S.-brokered deals worked without truces.
He also proposed a U.S.-Ukraine-Russia meeting.
The FOMC will release its latest meeting minutes
on Wednesday, offering potential clues on
future monetary policy.
UK July core CPI is seen steady at 3.7% YoY, pressuring
the BoE as it balances inflation control with a weak
labor market. The BoE’s last 25 bps cut (5-4 vote)
was viewed as a hawkish move, with markets
now pricing the next cut only in February 2026.
Canada’s CPI is expected to rise 0.4%
MoM in July (vs. 0.1% in June), while the
annual rate likely eases to 1.7% from 1.9%,
signaling ongoing headline disinflation.
